Rock Hall is a quaint fishing town that can trace its history to the beginnings of the United States. First as an important tobacco port-of-call, later as a primary fishing and crabbing center on the Chesapeake Bay.
Today it is an unique destination for boaters. Rock Hall is 16 nm from Annapolis, 18 nm from the Inner Harbor of Baltimore and 20 nm from St. Michaels......and Rock Hall is the place they cruise to on weekends to get away from the city life.

We were scheduled to leave Rock Hall on July 1 but due to rain and a choppy bay we decided to stay in town until the storms pass. Washington DC, Baltimore and Philadelphia are having severe thunderstorms and we are in the middle of it.
I read an interesting fact about Philadelphia that their total rainfall for June was 10.11 inches. The record was set in 1938 for 10.06 inches and it's still raining.

Fred and Jody arrived in South Fork Friday and their home is still there. Fires did not reach their area but everyone is still on alert. They have fire crews driving by every two hours on their patrol route. The fires are still burning, but have slowed down. There are still over 1000 firefighters battling the fires. I wish I could send them some of the rain we are getting.
