Day 267 July 8 53 mi Senator Frank S Farley State Marina Atlantic City NJ

The trip from Cap May to Atlantic city or beyond is very dependent on wind and waves.  A departure from Cape May in a westerly or northwesterly wind can be made easier by staying within one to three miles from the beach.
On the other hand the winds are from the south or southwest you can enjoy a less stressful trip father offshore.
Today we have SW winds....10-15 KT....Seas 2 to 3 FT.....mainly in S swell w a dominant period of 6 seconds....  We have a 7:50AM departure....we still are on a rising tide....with high tide at 8:54AM....and the entrance will be bumpy...

Atlantic City has been a tourist magnet since 1854, when Philadelphia speculators opened its railroad terminal.  The original seven-mile-boardwalk, built in 1870, was the first of its kind in the world.  In fact, Atlantic City was the inspiration for the board game Monopoly.
