Today is a travel day and we will depart PYC and move to Kingston NY to visit the Catskill Mountains. We have to return the car to Poughkeepsie and want to wait for high tide so our arrival in Kingston will have "little" current.
The Hudson Lighthouses need a review because today we will see number four and five and I can't account for one, two and three.....so.......
#1 Jeffrey's Hook Lighthouse below the Washington Bridge
#2 Tarrytown Lighthouse
#3 Stony Point Lighthouse
As I have said the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park is closed for summer break(month of July) and the campus is closed. I had wanted to tour the campus, have dinner at one of the restaurants($31-50/per) and of course, enroll for a "Bootcamp" week class($2,000+ a class)...........well next time
Culinary Institute of American from the water
Impressive campus
You can dream of being a graduate
We depart PYC around 2PM and I think we are the only boat on the river.....sunny but not too warm, little wind and the tide is in our favor. The Hudson River is tidal all the way to Troy when we go through the federal lock.
A German community
#4 Esopus Meadows Lighthouse....52 feet tall
1-foot of water around it....but our channel shows 104-feet
