Day 365 July 23 Henry's Fish Restaurant and Marina ON

We had rain last night and again this morning......the wind is strong.....so the weather from the North Channel has caught us once again.  That is OK...because this is a nice place with nice people and good food.

The same family has owned and ran the restaurant for 25 years, and their fish is fresh and invariably tasty.  The steady arrival of local and transient boats and seaplanes attest to Henry's popularity, and you never know if that famous looking person seated beside you in the attractive rustic dining room could be...."honey, could it really be....?"

Staff Quarters...they hire on for the summer

The dock master

You'll notice that the few pumpout facilities you find in Georgian Bay are often expensive.  The area is rock with no topsoil, so there is no place to dispose of the sewage; marina operators have to store the stuff and pay someone to cart it away.  For the same reason you'll find fewer shower and laundry facilities than you might expect.  There is simply no place to put the dirty water.

Henry's is 16 miles from any road and everything comes by water.  There are no dumpsters, no water at your dock, no shower....bathe in the lake...and no Wi-Fi.

They even come by Jet Ski

There is 30 feet of water on the bow

Water Taxi

Sea planes start coming in early evening....winds are calm

Some sunset

Saddi's area

Dinner is over

Time to head home

We leave tomorrow.....weather looks good
