Departure 7:15AM.....
Beyond Byng Inlet
The "real" Georgian Bay wilderness begins here. No roads come even close to the bay. The rock is bolder, the soil cover thinner, and the twisted pines bow eastward from the relentless west wind.
We follow our tracks back to the small-craft route and turn starboard....wish the sun would come up and shine.....today is sweatshirt weather.....
A couple of miles beyond Byng Inlet you come to the first tight pass in these waters, Cunningham's Channel. Simply take it slow and easy.
Another tight pass through Rogers Gut at Mile 12
