Saddi's morning walk
Firestation in Campbellford
Captain washing lock mud off the boat
Town Hall
There is a lot to see and do in Campbellford but we have decided to move on so we do not run out of time. 64 degrees on the bridge this morning...
9:20AM departure...
The river cuts right through town
Cute house on our way
There are five locks in quick succession in the next 5 miles, starting with Lock 13 about a mile from where we docked last night. The tie-up is to port for Lock 13, to starboard for Lock 14, and then back to port Lock 15. One final switch is required when entering the flight locks at 16 and 17....your lines and fenders must be on the starboard when entering this lock.
Lock 13 Campbellford Miles 32.2 with a 27 foot lift
On the blue wall while they lock Blondie and Shadow ahead of us
You can spend a quiet evening on the lock wall
Locking through with Assisted Living from Huntsville AL
Looking back at Campbellford ON

On to Flight Locks 16 and 17
This is the site of the Trent River's largest dam and hydro generating station
The red brick building at the bottom is the power house
Flight Locks 16 and 17 Healey Falls Mile 36.5 with a Total lift of 54 feet
Gate closing
When entering the flight lock, be sure to stay to starboard, since you may be passing boats going the opposite direction at the middle level of the lock
Near the top of the first chamber
Gates opening to the second chamber...Lock 17
And we are off and running
The white structure with huge windows at the top is the intake building
14 miles on Lake Seymour...stay in the channel...lots of weeds

Nice summer spot
The little hamlet of Trent River

Between Trent River and Hastings, the shoreline consists of cottages, scrub and farmland on gently rolling hills....
Are we there yet????
Lock 18 Hastings Mile 51.1 with a 9 foot lift
About there....SUN is still shining
Beautiful flowers at the lock....SUN is shining
Then all hell breaks loose....sheets of rain.....more sheets of rain....Captain and Saddi are dry on the bridge.....Mate is soaked....Where did this "liquid sunshine" come from...
There is more....Port Engine will not start....Swing gate opens for Assisted Living and closes ......Nanseann sits in the lock.... Captain does his "pony show".....still no start...
Finally....rain stops....Starboard engine started and we limp to the long wall at the top of the lock. Lock hands help us tie up....we are here.....
Are we having fun yet????? Are we Camping????? There is no power on this wall....but we do have a generator...
I'm staying out of this
The sky opens up again....and it pours....how about a Scotch Captain
I'm not going out there
Blue skies again
Shadow, Bondie, Assisted Living and Nanseann on the wall. Saddi....finally off the boat and a walk downtown....
Quiet evening in Hastings.....Captain contacted the Hasting Marina where we had a reservation.....they recommend repairman David to look at the Port Engine.....
He will be here at 8:30AM to address our problem...
Sunset around 9PM
