Day 187-193 Apr 19-25 Harbortown Marina Fort Pierce FL

When we were at North Palm Beach we were on the Gold Coast.  This is the wealthy....mega-yachts region of Florida.
Now....we are on the Treasure Coast...named for its history of shipwrecks and buried treasures.
We are still at Harbortown Marina in Fort Pierce waiting for UPS to deliver parts for our davitt system which went "south" on our way to the West End.

Fort Pierce is the center of the Indian River Citrus Industry.  The ICW tracks its way through the heart of the Indian River and it can be very choppy when winds reach 25 knots.  The guides recommend you stay in port and wait for fair weather.

During World War II, Hutchinson Island provided the perfect grounds for US servicemen training for amphibious assaults.  Today, the beaches are still used for training Navy SEALS and we visited the Navy SEAL Museum which illustrates the training and missions of the Navy frogmen.
