The weather was cloudy but pleasant when we left Turner Marine at 8AM. Lady KK was an hour behind us. The rest of our merry band of loopers were doing boat repairs, visiting the sights of Mobile or just plain smart.

Turner Marine
Office, Laundry and Meeting Place
We followed our bread crumbs back to the ship channel. There was a rock and roll when we turned south toward Dauphin Island with 2 to 3 foot seas. We saw our first shrimp boat....."shrimp boats are comin to town" a couple of barges and a great big ship coming north on the ship channel.
Here we go

First time we have had dophins follow us....too fast for me to take pictures....but they are neat.
Lighthouse in Mobile Bay
Winds continued to build with a few 5 foot waves. Downhill from there...Saddie's toenails were dug into the carpet. The captain turned us SE toward the ICW at buoy 38. This helped our ride. We reached the ICW at daymarker 151. Chartplotter is working, depth gauge is working and my I Pad had us on track. We knew we had plenty of blue water and other than the rocking and rolling it was any interesting trip.
I didn't sign on for this
Here comes the sun
We entered the ICW canal at Oyster Bay with civilization back. Rik and I have driven this area so it was even more interesting to see it by water. We went under the Gulf Shores bridge , past LULU's, down the channel to The Wharf Marina which is a new development at Orange Beach. Last year there was very little open but this time shops were open and lights were blazing.

But we are across Mobile Bay.....the weather changed on us after leaving Turner Marine and we had a ride.....but as they say...Mobile Bay is shallow and a chop can make you wish you were on shore.
