Day 25-27 Nov 8-10 Turner Marine,Mobile AL

Mobile is one of the largest seaports on the Gulf Coast.  Ships of every description berth here.  As you looked at our pictures we took on the Ship Channel we were very small compared to what we were seeing.

We stopped at Dog River on the western shore and stayed at Turner Marine.  They cater to sailboats but have their transient dock full of Looper Trawlers needing special repairs.  Roger and Christy are AGLCA sponsors and two of the nicest people you will meet.

We're in a row

Sure is big

These are fixed docks....so Saddi's ramp would not work off the aft swim platform.  Rik had built another platform so her ramp would fit on the side.  Of course we have tides here and her ramp would get steeper as the day went along.  She wasn't sure about all this.

This is new

Piece of cake

Think we have the steering fixed and the depth controls corrected.

Dinner out the second evening at Grand Mariner Marina and Restaurant.  Thank you Gerald.

The boys will have breakfast out the next two days since Gerald rented a car.  Bet they don't order cereal.

Days are perfect....cool mornings but warms up and sunsets/sunrise.... pretty.  Friday night we drove over to Felix Seafood and the grouper was excellent.  Bill and Jody from the Proud Lady joined us.
Breakfast at I Hops, shopping at Walmart, car returned, fuel, pump out and Alabama football this afternoon.  What do you think Jim and Claire?

Another Sunrise

We leave tomorrow bright and early and will follow our bread crumbs back to the Ship Channel.  Turn starboard toward Dauphin Island and then port on the ICW and cross Mobile Bay.  The bay is shallow with shoals so you just don't head out in open water.  There is a way to go or you may be calling Sea Tow.  Once we cross the bay we will head toward Orange Beach.  The captain is studying his charts.
Steaks on the grill tonight.  We are really enjoying our adventure.

Music coming from another Bar across Dog River.....Docktails on the back of the Nanseann.  This was our sunset.
