From its beginnings as a French fur-trading post in the late 1600s and a British fortress in the 1700s, Mackinaw City has grown into a summer resort town.
Today it is the gateway to Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Mackinaw Island......

We did not go to Mackinaw Island. We had been there several years-ago.....rented a horse carriage and the Captain drove me around the island, had lunch at The Grand hotel and visited the fort.
In town with Lindy and Satisfaction......Sanctuary came to visit by car. They cross their wake August 1st.....and are back home in Harbor Spring MI.....
You need a reservation weeks in advance to stay at the marina on Mackinaw Island....that we would do.....guess we will have to come back....
