We have spent a week in Deltaville, waiting for parts......seems the KVH system has gone south and needs to be replaced. It is still under warranty so that is the good part. We found a local repairman to do the installation which is another good thing.
Dinner on the Griddle tonight....last of the Bahamian Crayfish
Nice Sunset
Weather conditions can change rapidly. The Chesapeake can kick up a short, stiff chop when winds speeds climb over 15 knots and they tend to pick up in the late afternoon. Thunderstorms are frequent in summer. Most last only a half-hour or so....
Check the lines Captain...thunderstorm coming
Marina filled up quickly....everyone coming in
Lots of hard rain....chop chop chop....2-foot sheep
They were right....storm went on by
Nice evening
Bay is settling down
Tower Garden Growing
Deltaville is a friendly, small-town on a peninsula between the Rappahannock and Piankatank rivers. It has evolved from a working waterman's town into a recognized yachting center. You find sailing schools and many many marinas. Deltaville doesn't have a downtown. It is strung out along a highway for about two miles. So you borrow the courtesy car to go to town. It does have the second largest West Marine store plus an hardware store so the Captain is happy.
J & W Seafood has about everything you would want......so that was a must stop for us.....They ship crab, oysters and clams to you as they are one of the largest seafood packing houses on the Chesapeake. The Captain even found Sea Bass plus their Crabcakes were to die for.....We are back on our "seafood" diet....think we found some of those "lost pounds" we have been working on.....
Oyster shells
Shopping for dinner tonight
