Day 153 Mar 16 20 mi Great Guana Cay Abacos Bahamas

Big day for the Nanseann.....wind is less than 10 knt.....water is smooth....sun is out.....we are ready to go...We have been waiting for the raging seas to settle and the elephants go down to "little" elephants so that we can cross Whale Cut.  The problem with Whale Cay Passage occurs when seas build up and make the cuts north and south of Whale Cay downright dangerous.  You don't need strong winds for a rage to occur here, a storm far to the north (which the US has been having) can generate sufficient seas to shut down Whale Cay Passage.  You do not try Whale Cay Passage in a rage, it is not a playground; Whale Cay Passage has a history of wrecks and has earned every bit of its nasty reputation.  But today is the day....11AM departure....
