Day 139 Mar 2 Las Olas Marina Ft. Lauderdale

The cold front is really here....long sleeves are nice...Everyone is bundled up....that is except the Canadians and they are still in shorts and tank tops.  They will tell you "We're Canadian...not cold"  Today we are going to Publix for a few items.  This is downtown via 17th Street Bridge and we will take the Trolley.....too far to walk and too much traffic for bicycles.....at least for me.

Trolley rides are 50 cents each way or $2 for the day....well we're just going to Publix....one way there and one way back.....We get on the Las Olas Trolley and end up at the Las Olas Art Show....which was great to wander through.....people/dogs everywhere...

Las Olas Art Show

Some great art work

Well.....the Trolley driver told us we would have to go back to the beach and catch the 17th Street Trolley to get to Publix.....he wasn't going that way.....so back to the Trolley Stop to wait to the next one to show up.....This little "Bat Mobile" stops and for $3/person he will take you back to the beach and show you where to catch the 17th street Trolley.  Never rode in one of these so several get on to ride in the electric car.

We cross the street and walk down to the Trolley stop and wait for it to come......Captain is doing a pretty good job at "waiting".....

Just hanging around the Trolley Stop

Here Comes the Trolley

Maybe we should just get an all day pass $2/person in case we get lost again.  The driver says he does go to Publix.....in fact he will take us to the door....we'll see.  So we are off to see the sights.

17th Street Bridge is UP

Lunch before shopping

Nice Publix...filled my 3 bags

Ride the Trolley back to the end of the Ft Lauderdale beach, Galleria Shopping Plaza and around to the Marina area.  We have a couple of blocks to walk.  But we have Trolley Riding 101 down.  We have invested $12 in public transportation and we just wanted to go to Publix!  Miss Saddi will be glad to see us four + hours later....we did have a nice lunch out and saw lots of sights.

Several Cruise Ships In Port Everglade Harbor
